Juan Jose Behrend

Juan Jose Behrend is the Director of Engineering at Pomelo in LATAM. Pomelo is a FinTech that has developed a new financial services infrastructure in Latin America, allowing any FinTech company, Crypto, or sector in digital transformation (banking, retail, agriculture, education, etc.) to offer banking products and issue cards to its customers. Juan is a Telecommunications Engineer and graduated from ORT Uruguay. He has an MBA from Eude Business School, a Masters in Digital Business from IEBS Business School, and a Diploma in Data Science and Big Data from MIT. Previously, Juan worked leading the infra and platform areas as Manager of Infra at Pedidos Ya and Head of Platform at d-local. He has experience in bank security among the main banks in Uruguay Santander, Itau, and Banco de la Republica.

Juan has more than 15 years of experience in technology. He is a faculty professor and tutor, obtaining various certifications such as ITIL, CCSP, and AWS Architect Professional among others. He was also awarded the best engineering project 2018 in Uruguay. In his free time, Juan volunteers for several NGOs and communities.
